Personal Chef Agreement

The Client (you) is hiring Fresh Lime - Chef Z for the services described in this contract.


Menu Planning and Proposals
Fresh Lime – Chef Z will collaborate with the Client on a custom-curated menu proposal based on the information provided in the Client profile. For quality control purposes, all client and chef correspondence must be conducted in writing via email.
Menu planning, correspondence, travel fees, and the sourcing of groceries and ingredients are included in the Client’s quoted total rate. All agreed-upon menu items are subject to change due to ingredient availability, quality concerns, or other unforeseeable factors.
Fresh Lime prioritizes organic & farm fresh ingredients first, followed by local and sustainable sources from high-quality grocery stores. Clients must notify Chef Z in advance if they prefer ingredients to be sourced from a specific store. In some cases, it may be necessary to supplement ingredients from neighborhood grocery stores, specialty food stores, or farmers’ markets.

 

Scheduling
Chef Z will arrive promptly at the Client’s home at the agreed-upon date and time. Services typically require 2–5 hours of uninterrupted access to the kitchen.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that the home is accessible at the scheduled time. If Chef Z is unable to access the home for any reason, including but not limited to locked entry, pets, or other access issues, the service will be considered a last-minute cancellation. The Client will be charged for the scheduled service. Clients, children, pets, and other distractions must remain out of the kitchen during scheduled cook dates. The Client agrees to allow Chef Z to perform professional services without interruption.

Home Kitchens
Chef Z takes pride in maintaining professionalism and respect for the Client’s home and equipment. Chef Z will leave the workspace in the condition it was found, remove personal equipment, and properly store leftover groceries.
The Client must ensure the kitchen is clean, functional, and ready for use upon arrival, and that meal containers are available. If the kitchen is unsuitable, Chef Z may document the conditions with photographs and assess a $100 cleaning fee, which will be added to the invoice.
If the kitchen does not meet basic health and safety standards, including but not limited to lack of (running water, electricity..etc), Chef Z will not work in that kitchen as it does not abide by food safety laws and The Client will be charged.
 

Invoices
Fresh Lime – Chef Z will issue an invoice immediately after all booking details have been confirmed and the event is approved to move forward. A deposit is required to secure the event date. Invoices will clearly outline all required payment deadlines, including the initial deposit and final balance. The Client agrees to pay all invoices by the due dates specified.
Unpaid or overdue invoices may result in termination of the business relationship. Fresh Lime – Chef Z is under no obligation to continue providing services if this Agreement is breached.
Chef Z is not obligated to continue doing business with you or in the future if this contract is broken.

Deposit
Bookings are not considered confirmed until a deposit has been received. Any requested changes must be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the event date. Final details and guest counts are required 30 days prior to the event.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking confirmation to secure the event date. The remaining 50% balance is due no later than 30 days before the event date. All payments are non-negotiable.

Payment methods
Payment may be made to Fresh Lime via cash, check, approved credit card, or other payment methods approved by Fresh Lime.
Invoices are sent via Square by email, where there are many options for payment. Fresh Lime accepts all major credit cards. Venmo and PayPal are not accepted. For alternative payment methods, contact chefzpersonalchefservices@gmail.com.
 

No refunds
The Client will be deemed to have accepted all goods and services unless a written claim of defect is submitted within 24 hours of service completion.
There are no refunds after Chef Z has completed an event. Deposits are non-refundable if the service date is upcoming.
Licensing
Fresh Lime – Chef Z represents and warrants that all required licenses are valid and in effect and that all services are performed in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
 

Food Safety
(For Meal Prep Services)
Meals are packaged with suggested storage, reheating, and serving instructions. Instructions may vary due to equipment differences, storage conditions, or on-site adjustments.
Chef Z reserves the right to discard any food deemed unsafe for consumption, including meals from previous service dates. Fresh Lime – Chef Z is not liable for food safety issues resulting from improper storage, reheating, sanitation, or handling by the Client.

Expenses
The Client agrees to reimburse Fresh Lime for all reasonable expenses incurred in connection with the services provided under this Agreement.
 

Warranty
Services performed under this Agreement are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship at the time of service. No additional warranties, express or implied, are provided.
 

Modifications
Any modifications to this Agreement must be made in writing and agreed to by both the Client and Fresh Lime – Chef Z.
Termination of contract
This Agreement terminates on [Contract End Date] unless terminated earlier by either party. If terminated prior to completion, the Client remains responsible for payment of all services rendered and expenses incurred up to the termination date.

Cancellations
Clients must provide 30 days’ advance notice to cancel a scheduled cook date.
Cancellations made with less than 30 days’ notice will be invoiced at the full service rate. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled service time are considered last-minute cancellations and are fully chargeable.
